With the University of North Florida softball team tied going into the bottom of the seventh inning against Memphis, the Ospreys scored the winning run to give them their fifth win in-a-row,3-2, but fell, 7-1, to the Tigers in game two.

The University of North Florida women’s tennis team is ranked No. 70 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association standings. This is the first time that UNF has been nationally ranked since becoming an NCAA Division I member in 2005-06.

University of North Florida sophomore Aline Berkenbrock claimed her second career Atlantic Sun Women’s Tennis Player of the Week award after leading the Ospreys to a 3-0 record in the past week, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Men's Cross Country

Junior William Pearce finished on top for the men in the NCAA Regional Qualifier with a 63rd place finish in a time of 32:44.00. This was the first time the Ospreys have competed in the NCAA Regionals.

Paige Pridgeon OH#6

Volleyball

Outside hitter Paige Pridgeon was named the 2009 Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year.

Pridgeon averaged 3.12 kills per set, was second on the team in kills, and was the highest ranked freshman in the conference, eighth overall. She led the league in aces, with 50 on the season. Pridgeon finished seventh in the conference in points per set, averaging 3.70. On the defensive side, Pridgeon tallied 2.63 digs per set.
