After squandering a 16-point second half lead and the game tied at 70, junior guard Brad Haugabrook hit a driving lay-up with one second remaining to give North Florida a 72-70 road win over Lipscomb on Friday, Feb. 5, at Allen Arena.

The University of North Florida swimming and diving team hosted its final meet of the season on Friday morning and came away with a 104-61 victory over North Carolina A&T. The meet served as Senior Day for the Ospreys who honored its two seniors, Krissy Harms and Emily Shaw before the meet.

The University of North Florida women’s basketball team will travel to Nashville, Tenn. for a pair of Atlantic Sun contests. The Ospreys will face Lipscomb on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. EST in Allen Arena followed by Belmont on Monday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. EST at the Curb Event Center.

Paige Pridgeon OH#6

Volleyball

Outside hitter Paige Pridgeon was named the 2009 Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year.

Pridgeon averaged 3.12 kills per set, was second on the team in kills, and was the highest ranked freshman in the conference, eighth overall. She led the league in aces, with 50 on the season. Pridgeon finished seventh in the conference in points per set, averaging 3.70. On the defensive side, Pridgeon tallied 2.63 digs per set.

Men's Cross Country

Junior William Pearce finished on top for the men in the NCAA Regional Qualifier with a 63rd place finish in a time of 32:44.00. This was the first time the Ospreys have competed in the NCAA Regionals.
