From March 16 through April 6 the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and the National Association of Basketball Coaches are partnering with Papa John’s Pizza to raise money for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund and The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

The University of North Florida women’s tennis team shut out Samford, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.  UNF improves to 12-1 on the season while Samford falls to 8-5.

The University of North Florida softball team opens up Atlantic Sun Conference play with a doubleheader against Stetson starting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, in DeLand, Fla.

03.16 | Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
The men's and women's basketball teams took on all comers this past season, playing a very challenging 2009-10 schedule.  The two teams faced 14 teams, in a combined 20 games, who earned invitations to post-season play.  Each team faced seven of those teams in 10 total games, meaning about a third of each team's schedule was against tournament teams.

The UniversNorth Florida golf team sits in fourth place out of 18 teams after two rounds of the Rio Pinar Invitational at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Fla.  The third and final round begins with shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, at the par-72, 7,001-yard course.

Paige Pridgeon
Volleyball
Outside hitter Paige Pridgeon was named the 2009 Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year.

Pridgeon averaged 3.12 kills per set, was second on the team in kills, and was the highest ranked freshman in the conference, eighth overall. She led the league in aces, with 50 on the season. Pridgeon finished seventh in the conference in points per set, averaging 3.70. On the defensive side, Pridgeon tallied 2.63 digs per set.

William Pearce
Men's Cross Country

Junior William Pearce finished on top for the men in the NCAA Regional Qualifier with a 63rd place finish in a time of 32:44.00.  This was the first time the Ospreys have competed in the NCAA Regionals.
