
2022 UNF Athletic Hall of Fame Class Announced

JACKSONVILLE – The University of North Florida Athletic Department in conjunction with the UNF Athletic Hall of Fame Committee announced the 2022 Hall of Fame Class featuring a group of four former athletes, an administrator and a pair of history-making teams.
The latest Hall of Fame class includes: Lorena Aviles (Women's Tennis), Donnie Dewees (Baseball), Alex Morrell (Men's Soccer), Kaylie Wallace (Softball), William “Lee” Moon (Former Athletic Director) along with the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Men's Basketball teams.
The 2022 Hall of Fame reception is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6 in UNF Arena. Ticket information and further details about the event will be announced at a later date.

LORENA AVILES
UNF Women's Tennis (2012-13)… 2013 ASUN Player of the Year… Two-time first team All-ASUN in singles (2012 | 2013)… Second team All-ASUN in doubles (2012)… 2012 ASUN All-Tournament… Named to ASUN All-Decade Team (2010-19)… Member of 2012 Osprey squad that produced program record 9-0 record in ASUN play

DONNIE DEWEES
UNF Baseball (2013-15)… 2015 unanimous All-American, first team ABCA All-South Region, ASUN Player of the Year and first-team All-ASUN selection… 2013 Louisville Slugger and NCBWA Freshman All-American, second team All-ASUN and ASUN All-Freshman team honoree… Led the nation in hits (104), runs (88), slugging (.740) and total bases (188) in 2015… Semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy (2015) and was fifth in voting for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award (2015)… Only player in UNF history to record 100 hits in a season… Holds multiple North Florida game and single season records… Matched program record for longest hitting streak (31 games)… Named the UNF Athlete of the Year in 2015… Selected to the ASUN All-Decade Team (2010-19)… Career stats: .382 | 195 H | 143 R | 32 2B | 12 3B | 24 HR | 123 RBI | 28 SB

ALEX MORRELL
UNF Men's Soccer (2012-15)… Three-time All-ASUN selection… Finished career as program's all-time assist leader (19)… Helped lead Ospreys to 2015 ASUN Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance… Set ASUN record with three assists in ASUN Championship match… Ranked among North Florida's Top 10 in several career and single season categories… Career stats: 63 Matches | 10 G | 19 A… Selected in second round (22nd overall pick) in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft… Named to the ASUN All-Decade Team (2010-19)

KAYLIE WALLACE
UNF Softball (2012-15)… 2013 ASUN Pitcher of the Year… Twice named All-ASUN (2013, first team | 2012, second-team)… Named ASUN All-Freshman (2012)… Three-time ASUN All-Academic honoree… Led the ASUN in ERA (1.63) and wins (24) with eight shutouts in 2013… Six-time ASUN Pitcher of the Week… Ranked in program's Top 10 for numerous career and single season statistics… Selected to the ASUN All-Decade Team (2010-19)… Career Stats: 2.23 ERA | 451 K | 63 wins | 5 saves | 17 shutouts
