A familiar face returned to the North Florida women's golf program, as former standout and local product Courtney Cobb was named an assistant coach in August of 2020, and later promoted to associate head coach for the Ospreys in July of 2024.
During her first season overlooking the women's golf program as the associate head coach, she helped develop the dynamic duo of Kaitlyn Schroeder and Casilda Allendesalazar into All-ASUN selections and five ASUN Golfer of the Week honors with nine combined top-10 finishes. Allendesalazar was the runner-up at the annual UNF Collegiate home tournament, while Schroeder went on to win UNF's Female Newcomer of the Year.
A native of Jacksonville, Cobb has helped the Ospreys produce two of the most successful seasons in program history. Her time as assistant coach has been highlighted by UNF setting program records for best 18-hole and 54-hole totals, best scoring average, back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances, and sending an individual to first NCAA Championship appearance in school history.
During a historic 2022 season, Cobb assisted with coaching three All-ASUN selections, two ASUN All-Tournament selections, and two medalist crown winners. The Ospreys also placed inside the top-three in six tournaments on the year, including team titles at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, the UNF Collegiate, and the squad's first ASUN Championship since 2017.
Over Cobb's first three seasons as an assistant coach at UNF, she has helped bring in nine All-ASUN selections, including five first-team honors, five ASUN All-Tournament selections, four ASUN All-Academic selections, two ASUN All-Freshman selections, and a pair of ASUN Scholar-Athletes of the Year.
On top of that, she also has assisted in bringing home seven team titles, including an ASUN Championship, three medalist crown winners, two team NCAA Regional appearances, one individual NCAA Regional appearance and an NCAA Championship individual appearance.
Cobb served a stint as the assistant women's golf coach at FGCU (2018-19) following her graduation from North Florida and then spent one season as an assistant coach for her junior college alma mater, Daytona State. During her one year at FGCU, she helped set new low for team scoring average, as well as a new low for team 18-hole, 36-hole and 54-hole totals. The Eagles produced two medalist crown winners, two All-ASUN selections, two ASUN All-Tournament selections, and a team title during that season.
Cobb played three seasons (2015-18) with the Ospreys after beginning her collegiate career at Daytona State. Cobb played in 20 events while at UNF with a career-best showing of T7 in the 2018 ASUN Championship. She was a member of the squad for both of the Ospreys ASUN titles in 2016 and 2017.
Off the course, Cobb collected a pair of WGCA All-America Scholar honors, while earning ASUN Academic Honor Roll recognition in three seasons. She was also named UNF's Most Improved Female Athlete in 2018. She graduated summa cum laude from North Florida with a bachelor's degree in sport management, while also obtaining a master's degree in educational leadership with a concentration in athletic administration.
Prior to her playing days at UNF, Cobb was a member of Daytona State's 2014 NJCAA National Championship squad. She was also a letterwinning prep golfer at Providence High School earning All-Area four times.
