MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – North Florida Men's Soccer closed out its non-conference slate with its eighth-straight win, blanking College of Charleston, 3-0, at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point on Tuesday night.Â
Â
With the win, North Florida improves to 9-3 on the season. The eight-straight wins mark the program's longest unbeaten and win streak in program history - regardless of division.Â
Â
Sophomore midfielder Rafa Rios netted his first collegiate goal on a header off a corner kick delivery from sophomore forward Kaiss Mansouri in the 30th minute. It marked the second-straight match and third assist of the season for Mansouri.Â
Â
Redshirt senior forward Luc Granitur notched his fifth goal of the season and second-straight match with a goal to extend the margin to 2-0 in the 51st minute. After Mansouri dribbled down the right side of the final third and found senior defender Jaylen Yearwood, Yearwood played the ball into the six-yard box that was sent home by Granitur. The five goals for Granitur match his single-season career-high and extend his career total to 12.Â
Â
Redshirt sophomore forward Mark Romano sent a strike that froze the goalkeeper for his fourth goal of the season off a double assist from fifth year midfielder Rentaro Miyakawa and junior forward Goffin Oyirworth in the 89th minute. It marked the second assist of the season for both Miyakawa and Oyirworth.Â
Â
Redshirt junior Luciano Natoli posted three saves and notched his sixth shutout of the season in 90 minutes in goal.Â
Â
North Florida boasted a 22-11 shot advantage and 7-1 margin in corner kicks.Â
Â
North Florida continues ASUN Conference action when it hosts Stetson at Hodges Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
