Who's Hot
Swift garnered the first A-Sun player of the week honor for the Lady Osprey squad this season after scoring four goals in three matches, including game-winners in both A-Sun contests and two goals against Upstate. She leads the conference with eight goals and 17 points on the season. With 0.8 goals per game, she also ranks in the top 40 in the nation.
Senior Erica Lippitt made her sixth start in goal for UNF on Sunday and pushed her season record to 4-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play. Lippitt saw much more action on Sunday than the box score indicates, showing five saves and one goal allowed. She took pressure off of the Lady Osprey defensive unit by venturing away from the net to retrieve long serves by ETSU and distributing balls to lead the UNF offensive threat.
Record Watch
Swift has scored 20 goals as a Lady Osprey, which ranks tied for ninth all-time. This time last week, she was one shy of breaking into the top 10. Swift needs one goal to move into a tie in the eighth position and three to do the same at number seven.
With 13 assists in her career at UNF, senior Elizabeth Gowan needs one more to break into the top 10 in the career assist category of the UNF women's soccer record book. Also, Gowan can break into the top 10 in goals scored if she matches her total (6) from a year ago.
Quotables
Head coach Linda Hamilton on the break this week: “We are relieved to be able to have an entire week to prepare for our next weekend of conference play. We went through an extremely tough non-conference schedule to start the season, and hopefully that readied us for the competition we will see in A-Sun play.”
