
UNF defeats Lipscomb

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's soccer team secured its first conference victory on Thursday, defeating Lipscomb 1-0 at home. With the Osprey victory, UNF improves to 3-8-1 on the season with a 1-3 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference action.
UNF scored the only goal of the game in the 59th minute of play. Connor Sheehan connected with Chris Merritt for the Osprey goal.
The Ospreys also saw another chance to score when Mats Elmsater hit the post in the 73rd minute followed by a shot from David Pollard that was blocked by a Bison defender.
Taylor Unsinger posted four saves in his second start in goal for UNF, while Danny Prichard collected two saves for the Bisons.
Samir Plavotic and Frank Dinzey also tallied shots on goal for the Ospreys.
The Ospreys continue conference action on Saturday as they host Belmont at 1 p.m.
