
Volleyball Drops Hard-Fought Battle To Bellarmine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida volleyball fought hard in its four-set match, falling to Bellarmine, 3-1, on Saturday evening.
UNF 1, BEL 3 (25-20, 22-25, 22-25, 22-25)
Set 1: Graduate outside hitter Kailey McKnight led the way with six kills on .444 hitting to go with three digs in the first set. The Ospreys held a 6-5 lead to open the set and used a 5-0 run fueled by three kills from freshman outside hitter Leah McDonald to earn a six-point advantage. Back-to-back kills from senior middle blocker Kierstyn McFall and McKNight sealed the victory.
Set 2:Â North Florida came out firing to a 5-0 lead behind a pair of kills from McKnight. Bellarmine built momentum down the stretch, taking five of the last seven points.
Set 3: Freshman opposite Kendall Newbold sparked the offense early with two kills. Facing an 18–11 deficit, McFall put down back-to-back kills amid the set to bring the Ospreys within five, though it wasn't enough to overcome UNF's deficit.
Set 4: The Ospreys facilitated a strong start, earning a 4-2 lead with a pair of kills coming from junior middle blocker Yarimar Francis Garay. Newbold caught fire with three kills amid the set, though Bellarmine commanded the lead en route to victory.
