JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Chrissa Avery was recognized as ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.Â
"It's always great to see one of our student-athletes receive recognition from the ASUN," Head Coach Eric Faulconer said. "Chrissa [Avery] continues to grow and become more confident each time she steps on the field. She turned in a solid performance this weekend, not conceding a goal during 135 minutes of play. I know this honor will only fuel her to work harder as we enter the final stretch of the regular season."
Chrissa Avery was crucial in helping North Florida take down Stetson on Oct. 12 as she registered her third clean sheet of the season with a pair of saves. Avery also held the elusive FGCU offense scoreless during the second half of play securing four saves on Oct. 9.
Overall, Avery has compiled 37 saves for a .698 save percentage this season. In conference play, she has collected 20 saves and a .714 save percentage.
North Florida will take on Jacksonville at Southern Oak Stadium for the second matchup of the River City Rumble on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m.
