Osprey junior will NOT hire an agent
JACKSONVILLE -- North Florida junior guard Dallas Moore has announced his intention to declare for the 2016 NBA Draft, but will not hire an agent, maintaining his amateurism.Â
Moore put his name into the NBA Draft, making him eligible to be drafted on draft night on June 23, 2016. He is able to start attending workouts scheduled by NBA teams and is eligible to compete in the NBA Draft Combine on May 10-15, 2016, in Chicago, if he is invited. He then has 10 days (May 25, 2016, deadline) to weigh his options and keep his name in or withdrawal from the NBA Draft. Withdrawing his name from the Draft will maintain his eligibility in intercollegiate athletics.
"Dallas has developed a very impressive resume in his three seasons with our program," said head coach Matthew Driscoll. "His on-court accomplishments and our team success combined with the high level opponents we play against in our non-conference schedule has provided him an opportunity to see how NBA teams view his talents. With the new NCAA rules, not signing with an agent gives him the flexibility to return to UNF for his senior year."
The 2015-16 Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, first-team All-Atlantic Sun honoree, Moore led the Ospreys and the Atlantic Sun in both scoring (19.8 ppg) and assists (6.0 apg). He was one of only four players in the country to top their league in both categories. He also enjoyed his most successful season statistically improving in nearly every category. Moore finished the year shooting 51 percent from the field including 39 percent from the three-point arc and 71 percent from the free throw line.
Moore, who was named an AP All-America Honorable Mention and to the NABC All-District 3 first-team, scored a program single season record of 672 points and also become the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,625 career points. He helped lead UNF to a second consecutive Atlantic Sun regular season title and national postseason tournament appearance, with the Ospreys making their program debut in the NIT.
