WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The North Florida track and field teams will send a select group of athletes to the JDL College Kickoff Classic on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track Facility.
North Florida is coming off one of the most successful cross country seasons in program history with the men's team claiming the first ASUN Conference team title for the Ospreys along with junior Nick Morken winning the individual title. Meanwhile, a young and talented women's team posted a third-place showing behind the record-setting, championship winning run by junior standout Eden Meyer.
Saturday's meet will provide the Osprey's jumpers and sprinters an opportunity to get some competition under their belt before the holiday break. Those expecting to compete for UNF include high jumpers Bobby Harris, Alyssa Young and Alexandra Ellis along with hurdlers Hallie Grimes and Tianna Hearn and mulit-sprint runner Desmond Robb.
Following the JDL Classic, North Florida's next indoor meet will be the Camel City Invitational on Feb. 3-4 at this same JDL Fast Track.

"The JDL Kickoff classic a great way to get our track season rolling. For our upperclassmen, who are the nucleus of our indoor team, we think it is important to get in a competition to bring closure to a great fall for our program. All of the track kids have worked hard and we are looking forward to competing." -- Head coach Jeff Pigg
