Aviles Claims First Weekly A-Sun Honor of 2013

MACON, Ga. -- Senior Lorena Aviles of the University of North Florida played her way to an undefeated weekend en route to the capturing the first Atlantic Sun Women's Tennis Player of the Week award of the 2013 season.
This weekend saw Aviles lead the Ospreys to a resounding victory in their first dual match of the season, as they trounced Bethune-Cookman, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon. Aviles took home victories at both No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles, teaming with fellow senior Melanie Aguirre to earn an 8-1 doubles victory before besting Chinatsu Kajiwara in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
This is Aviles' second career A-Sun Player of the Week award.
The Ospreys will next be in action this Saturday, February 2, as they travel to southern Florida to face off against 10th-ranked Miami in a 2 p.m. match.
