Men's Tennis Heads to ITA All-American Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Three members of the University of North Florida men's tennis team will travel to Tulsa, Okla. this weekend to compete against some of the nation's best players at the ITA Men's All-American Championships.
Senior Moritz Buerchner, sophomore Norbert Nemcsek and senior Leonardo Nahar will all head west this weekend to compete in various stages of the tournament.
Nemcsek and Nahar will begin their competition in pre-qualifying on Saturday, Sept. 29, while Buerchner has already moved forward into the qualifying round, which begins on Monday, Oct. 1.
Up to 256 players begin in the pre-qualifying stages, where Nemcsek and Nahar will start, and competitors must win four rounds to advance to the qualifying round, where 128 players will compete for 16 spots in the 64-player main draw. The main draw will take place from Oct. 4-7.
Last year, Buerchner became the first UNF tennis player to play in the All-American Championships, as he advanced to the final round of qualifying.
