Frazier Advances to 400m Quarters at NCAA East Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Sophomore Brianna Frazier of the University of North Florida track and field team clocked a 52.86 in the 400m to advance to Friday's quarterfinals at the 2012 NCAA East Region Preliminary Round at Hodges Stadium on Thursday evening.
Frazier's time was her second-fastest 400m effort of the 2012 season and was good enough to win her heat. The top three finishers in each of the event's six heats, along with the next nine fastest times, advanced to tomorrow's second round. Frazier's time was the seventh-fastest recorded across all heats in Thursday's first round.
The women's 400m quarterfinals will be held tomorrow at 6:15 p.m. Frazier will also be running in the women's 200m first round at 8:25 p.m. Joining her in competition from UNF tomorrow will be senior Christina King, who will participate in the women's pole vault at 11:00 a.m.
