Frazier's Record Highlights Day at South Florida Multi-Cultural Games

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Sophomore Brianna Frazier set her fifth school record of the 2012 campaign by clocking a time of 11.81 in the 100m to highlight the efforts of the University of North Florida track & field teams at the South Florida Multi-Cultural Games in Miramar, Fla. on Monday evening.
Frazier, who competed in the 100m for the first time this year, now holds or shares the school record in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 400m hurdles, while also running the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay team that broke the school record at the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships.
Competing with Frazier in the 100m were sophomore Sharniece Supal (12.37), senior Ava Rivera (12.50) and junior Jaybria Calcote (12.86), who finished sixth, 12th and 14th, respectively.
Also for the women's team, junior Jennifer Smyth grabbed third in the long jump with a mark of 4.94m (16-2 1/2). In the 100m hurdles, freshman Christina Johnson took first with a time of 14.48, while junior Jasmine Jackson earned the bronze, clocking a 15.30.
Calcote, Supal, Rivera and Frazier also took first place in the 4x400m relay, clocking a time of 3:51.57.
On the men's side, junior Aaron Tillman grabbed seventh in the 400m with a time of 50.37. He was followed by juniors Justin Mims (50.38) and Nick Squillace (50.81) in eighth and 10th, respectively.
In the 800m, junior James Post took fourth place, clocking a 1:56.86, followed by freshman Taylor Sumagpang (2:02.10) in fifth and junior Skylar Squillace (2:05.49) in sixth. Junior Nick Squillace also clocked a 22.59 in the 200m to earn fourth place.
Nick Squillace, Mims, Tillman and sophomore David Shepherd recorded a time of 3:18.88 to take second in the 4x400m relay.
The UNF track and field teams are next in action on May 11-12 when they travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
