Baseball Debuts at No. 23 in College Baseball Daily Mid-Major Poll

College Baseball Daily Mid-Major Poll (March 12, 2012)

MIAMI, Fla. – College Baseball Daily released its Top 25 Mid-Major Poll and the University of North Florida baseball team entered the rankings at No. 23. The Ospreys are 11-4 (.733) overall after posting a 4-0 (1.000) week.

After opening the season 1-2 (.333), North Florida is 10-2 (.833) in its last 12 games. Since the calendar switched to March, UNF is 7-1 (.875).

The Ospreys won 19-1 at Florida A&M Tuesday and swept South Alabama over weekend. On Sunday redshirt freshman Garrick Ferguson hit a walk off grand slam in the 13th inning for a 7-3 win and complete the sweep of South Alabama.

Fellow Atlantic Sun Conference members, Stetson (No. 2) and USC Upstate (No. 25) also made the list. North Florida's next opponent, FIU, is currently No. 21 on the list, up two spots from last week.

North Florida and FIU open a two-game midweek series on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:00 p.m. in Miami.
