Buerchner, Nemcsek Set to Play at USTA/ITA Nationals

SKILLMAN, N.J. -- Senior Moritz Buerchner and sophomore Norbert Nemcsek of the University of North Florida men's tennis team will have the opportunity to extend their fall seasons this week, as they take part in the 2012 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing, N.Y.
The duo was one of just two at-large selections to the 20-team doubles draw that begins on Thursday and is viewed as the nationwide culmination of the fall collegiate tennis season.
The tournament features top doubles teams from across the country. Buerchner and Nemcsek have already played and defeated Henrique Cunha and Raphael Hemmeler of Duke, the second-seeded pairing, earlier this season at the ITA All-American Tennis Championships.
No UNF tennis player has ever taken part in the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships which are hosted in Flushing, N.Y. at the site of the U.S. Open.
“It's an honor for Moritz and Norbert to be selected by the ITA National Committee as one of the top twenty teams in the entire country,” Head Coach Adam Schaechterle said. “It's also a special achievement to reach a level that hasn't been touched in the history of our program. We have worked hard in our preparation and now it's time to execute on a bigger stage.”
