Buerchner, Nemcsek Advance to ITA All-American Main Draw

TULSA, Okla. -- Senior Moritz Buerchner and sophomore Norbert Nemcsek battled to a second-round doubles win in the qualifying round of the 2012 ITA Men's All-American Championships on Wednesday afternoon to advance to the tournament's main draw.
The pair defeated Axel Alvarez and Daniel Webb of the University of Oklahoma, 9-7, to move into the third round of the qualifying bracket. The team from Oklahoma was seeded second in the qualifying bracket.
With the victory, Buerchner and Nemcsek become the first Ospreys to reach the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships. Play in the 32-team main draw begins tomorrow morning.
"I'm very proud of these guys," Head Coach Adam Schaechterle said. "Especially Moritz, as a senior and knowing what he's meant to this program, I'm very proud to see them move into the main draw."
Earlier in the day, Buerchner fell in his singles match, dropping a 0-6, 3-6 decision to Joe Salisbury of Memphis in the final round of the singles qualifying bracket.
