1/27/2012 6:18:00 PM | Men's Track, Women's Track
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The University of North Florida track and field teams will head to their final regular-season meet on Saturday when they travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for the Embry-Riddle Challenge.
The Ospreys won three events at last week's Gator Invite, matching their total from the season's first meet.
For the women, senior Erin Nixon will be looking for a win in her third consecutive meet, as she has grabbed victories in both the mile and 3000m so far this year. Nixon was named the Atlantic Sun Women's Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week for her efforts last week.
Sophomore Brianna Frazier will also be looking for a repeat of her last race, when she took first in the 400m at the Gator Invite with a 54.26, the seventh-fastest time recorded in Division 1 this year.
On the men's side, junior James Post will also be looking for a third straight medal, having won both the 800m and the mile this year. Sophomore David Shepherd, who broke his own school record in the pole vault earlier this season, will also be looking to improve.
