
UNF Baseball Completes Signing Class

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida baseball team rounded out its 2010-11 signing class with four signees, Chandler Jagodzinski (Orlando, Fla.), Brandan Keen (Orlando, Fla.), Tyler Marincov (Orlando, Fla.) and Mike Wesner (Lake Oswego, Ore.).
Jagodzinski comes to UNF after attending Lake Sumter Community College. He was tabbed the 2010 LSCC Male Athlete of the Year and named All-Mid Florida Conference as a pitcher in 2010 (First Team) and 2009 (Second Team). Jagodzinski boasted 16 saves and five victories for LSCC with 83 strikeouts and just 24 walks in approximately 90 innings of work. As a freshman, he recorded an ERA of 3.34, while improving that average to 2.11 as a sophomore. In addition, Jagodzinski is currently a member of the 2010 NJCAA USA Baseball All-Stars. He lettered at William R. Boone High School in Orlando, Fla. Jagodzinski helped the Braves to a 52-23 overall record in three years, including a regional appearance in 2008. He was a two-time Pitcher of the Year (2007 and 2008) and finished his career at BHS with a 10-2 record. Jagodzinski recorded nine saves as a senior and boasted a 2.30 ERA as a sophomore, a 0.65 ERA as a junior and a 2.03 ERA as a senior. He struck out 107 batters in three years with just 13 walks. In the 2008 District win, Jagodzinski got the game winning RBI and closed the game for a save.
Keen joins the Ospreys after lettering at Olympia High School in Orlando, Fla.. He was a part of an OHS team that went 63-19 in three years. Keen posted a perfect 5-0 record with two saves as a junior, recording a school-best 1.15 ERA. He recorded 31 strikeouts in roughly 30 innings of work in 2009, making 12 appearances on the mound with four starts. Keen led Olympia High School to the 2009 Orlando Baseball Classic Championship. He missed the 2010 season with an injury.
Marincov was a four-year letterwinner at Timber Creek High School where he helped the Wolves to three District Semifinals and one State Semifinal. He led TCHS to a 84-28 record in four years. Marincov was named First Team All-State (2009), All-District (2010), All-Area (2009, 2010) and All-Metro (2009, 2010) and tabbed 6A District 10 Player of the Year in 2010, as well as, the 2010 Bright House Player of the Year. He hit .430 for his career with 119 hits, including 22 home runs, eight triples and 19 doubles, scoring 95 runs while driving in 93 runs and swiping 30 bases. He set the Timber Creek High School record in career home runs, slugging percentage, on-base percentage and fielding percentage. He was drafted out of high school by the Detroit Tigers in the 48th round. Marincov was also a standout on the football field, lettering for three years, earning All-District and Team MVP honors. He was named the 2009 Offensive Player of the Year, helping Timber Creek High School to a District Championship in football.
Wesner is a transfer who was a member of the Oregon State baseball team in 2009 and played baseball at the College of Southern Idaho in 2010 He was named Honorable Mention All-District while at Southern Idaho. In 2010, Wesner collected 51 hits in 168 at bats for a .304 batting average, recording 19 doubles with a triple and a home run. He drove in 44 runs while scoring 35 more and stealing 15 bases. Wesner was named to the President's List with a 4.0 GPA and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. In high school, he was a letterwinner at Lake Oswego High School. He helped the Lakers to League Championships in 2007 and 2008. Wesner was named First Team All-District as a junior and Honorable Mention All-District as a senior. He was tabbed Baseball NW Top Prospect – No. 3 in Oregon and No. 9 in the Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, British Columbia). In addition to baseball, Wesner was also was a standout on the football field. He was named First Team All-State Linebacker and First Team All-State Tight End, helping Lake Oswego High School to League Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
