
Hale Selected by Orioles in MLB Draft

“Obviously, I have worked my whole life to get this opportunity,” Hale stated. “I am happy I get the opportunity to continue playing baseball. A lot of guys on the team, including me, didn't realize what we missed out on by not going to the conference tournament until we got there this season. That chance to play more games after the regular season is special. Now, I get to play a little bit more and there are a lot of guys that don't get that opportunity. I feel honored and blessed to get the opportunity and I am extremely excited.”
Hale finished the regular season with a .391 batting average, collecting 93 hits in 238 at bats. He scored 59 runs while driving in 63 RBI, starting in all 58 of UNF's games this season. Hale boasted 20 doubles, two triples and 12 home runs with a .643 slugging percentage.
During last month's A-Sun Championship, he hit .462 (6-for-13) with three home runs. Hales boasted a 1.154 slugging percentage and scored six runs while driving in five RBI en route to All-Tournament Team honors.

In addition to his accolades on the baseball diamond, Hale excelled in the classroom being named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Baseball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He is also a two-time Academic All-District honoree and has earned four A-Sun All-Academic awards.
