
UNF Women’s Basketball to Host Summer Camps

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida Women's Basketball team will host a series of camps this summer at UNF Arena on the campus of UNF beginning in June.
The first camp is individual camp from June 21-24. There will be a junior ballers division for ages 6-10 from 9 a.m. to noon. This camp will give young basketball players a chance to have fun while learning the fundamentals of the game. This camp is designed to instill excitement and a love of the game in young players.
The individual camp for ages eight and older will run from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Individual camp is designed to provide high-quality, individualized instruction in the development and improvement of each camper's skills. The campers will learn and train in all of the fundamental skills including ball-handling, shooting, passing, rebounding and dribbling. Campers will also participate in daily contests and 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 league games. The camp will be grouped according to age and skill level to ensure a fun and competitive environment.
On June 12th and 13th from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Ospreys will hold advanced camp for ages 13-18. This is a high-level camp designed for players who desire to improve their game while focusing on shooting techniques and individual position skills. Campers will receive special instruction in the areas of defense, offense, game strategy and recruiting. Advanced Camp will specialize in the skills specific to each position. Instruction will be broken down into perimeter and post positions.
Elite Camp will be held August 29 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This camp is designed for the experienced and competitive basketball player who aspires to play at the collegiate level. Camp is designed to enhance and improve individual skills, provide advanced instruction in positional play, provide competitive team play and skill competitions.
Team Camp is June 18-20 and begins at 2 p.m. on Friday and concludes at 5 p.m. on Sunday. All teams are encouraged to bring a minimum of seven players. There are three divisions of play, intermediate, competitive and elite. All games are officiated by SABO officials. Head coaches attend for free. Camp is limited to 24 teams.
