JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women’s tennis team will host Eastern Kentucky at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9 at the UNF Tennis Complex.

UNF (8-1, 2-0 A-Sun) is coming off a big 4-3 win over Atlantic Sun Conference favorite Stetson on Saturday. The Ospreys picked up the doubles point with their No. 1 pair of sophomore Aline Berkenbrock and junior Raquel Castro defeating No. 37 ranked duo of Valentina Galbarini and Carolina de los Santos, 8-5. UNF secured the doubles with sophomore transfer Danielle Day and freshman Melanie Aguirre won, 8-5 in the No. 2.

The Ospreys also picked up wins from Berkenbrock and Day in the No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches, respectively. Junior Lauren Holton won in the No. 6.

EKU (5-7) was on a three match winning streak before falling to Alabama in its last outing. The Colonels were picked to win the Ohio Valley Conference in the 2010 preseason poll. Myriem Mhirit was picked as the top player in the OVC going into the season. Joining her on the preseason all-conference list was teammate Anouk Faure. The Colonels won both the OVC regular season and the conference tournament in 2009.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Ospreys will remain home for a pair of A-Sun contests beginning with Belmont on Friday, March 12 at 2 p.m. UNF will face Lipscomb on Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m.
