
Berkenbrock Named A-Sun Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. – Sophomore Aline Berkenbrock claimed her second Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honor for the season after leading the UNF women's tennis team to three wins, including a pair of shutouts over A-Sun opponents this past week.
Berkenbrock is 18-0 on the season at the No. 1 singles. This past week she defeated USC Upstate's Francisca Valderrama who ranks No. 113 nationally, 6-1, 6-0. She also picked up a win against Campbell's Lisa Sutton, 7-5, 6-2. In non-conference action, she helped the Ospreys to a 5-2 win over UCF, defeating the Knights' Jenny Frisell, 6-3, 6-2.
In doubles, Berkenbrock teamed up with senior partner Raquel Castro to defeat both USC Upstate's and Campbell's No. 1 doubles duos. UNF swept the Spartans and the Camels, 7-0. The Ospreys moved up to No. 60 in this week's ITA standings.
This is Berkenbrock's second player of the week honor this season and the third of her career.
Berkenbrock and the rest of the Ospreys will be back in action on Saturday, April 3 at East Tennessee State at 1 p.m. The two teams are currently tied for first place in the A-Sun.
