
UNF Swimming/Diving Set for Double Dual-Meet

UNF Swimming and diving will compete against Daytona Beach State and Florida Atlantic
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida swimming and diving team will compete in a double dual-meet against Daytona Beach State and Florida Atlantic in Daytona Beach, Fla. on Saturday, Jan. 30. The meet is slated for 1 p.m.
“It is amazing how fast the season has gone,” head coach Beth Harrell stated. “This is our final meet on the road before the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Conference Meet in three weeks. Daytona Beach State is a new program, but FAU is a very strong program that has been around for a while. We will have some great competition to test us and help us get ready for our conference championship.”
The last time out, the Ospreys received season-best performances from 14 different swimmers in a combined 27 events, competing in a quad-meet at Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga.
True freshman Sara Evans posted four season-best times, while sophomores Amanda Anderson and Krista Teresak each had three season-bests in the meet. Freshmen Ashten Crosby, Katie England, Margaret Hoynes and Kirsten Orndorff, as well as juniors Lyn Ann Nelson and Caroline Larsson each had season-bests in two events, while senior Krissy Harms, juniors Taylor Crosby and Kimberly Kuehl and sophomores Sapphire Hinson and Amanda Singleton each posed a season-best in an event.
Evans posted season-best times in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 200 individual medley and 400 IM. Anderson recorded best times in the 100 backstroke, 200 IM and 400 IM. Teresak notched season-best times in the 100 butterfly, the 200 fly and the 400 IM.
Ashten Crosby posted her best swims of the season in the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly, while England notched collegiate bests in the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke. Hoynes had collegiate best races in the 100 fly and the 100 freestyle, while fellow freshman Orndorff recorded season-bests in the 200 free and the 500 free.
Larsson recorded season-bests in the 400 IM and 1,650 free, while fellow junior Nelson had best times in the 100 free and the 200 free.
Taylor Crosby posted a season-best time in the 100 breaststroke, while Harms recorded a best time in the 50 free. Hinson recorded a time in the butterfly while Kuehl and Singleton recorded best times in the 100 free and 1,650 free, respectively.
