
Evans, Moomaw Named CCSA Swimmer/Diver of the Week

Sara Evans earned her first Swimmer of the Week award, while Julia Moomaw won her third Diver of the Week honor
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of North Florida's Sara Evans has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while UNF's Julia Moomaw was named the CCSA Women's Diver of the Week for meets competed Jan. 4-10, it was announced today by the league.
Evans, a true freshman from Lynn Haven, Fla., came up big for the Ospreys against league foe Radford this past weekend. She swam the second leg of the 200-yard medley relay (1:53.64) that finished first, as well as taking first in the 200 IM with a season-best time of 2:11.33. Her time in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.26) was good enough to win by nearly three seconds, but with the meet already determined the event was exhibitioned.
Moomaw, a true freshman from Orlando, Fla., posted victories in both diving events leading the Ospreys to a 141-82 victory against Radford on Jan. 9. She bested her season-highs from last week in both events scoring a 246.23 in the 1-meter event and a CCSA-leading 261.53 in the 3-meter diving competition. Moomaw picks up her second straight CCSA Diver of the Week plaudit, her third of the season.
North Florida will return to action on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15-16, as the swimming and diving team heads to Statesboro, Ga. for a quad-meet against host Georgia Southern, Florida Gulf Coast and Gardner-Webb.
