
Phelan Sits in Fourth Entering Final Day of State Amateur

Phelan shot a 71 on day three and is at 3-under 213 (72, 70, 71) for the tournament, six strokes back of the leader going into the final round of play in the
“Kevin has been posting good numbers, especially for playing on this professional course,” said Head Golf Coach Scott Schroeder. “Now that he will be playing in the second to last group on the final day he will have to stay focused on playing well and taking care of only what he can control.”
After 54 holes the former UNF golfer from the 1995-96 Division II Championship team, Garret Morrison, stands alone in ninth place. Morrison, shot par the first two rounds and a 73 today. The recent graduate of UNF and former player, Jeff Dennis, sits among the field of 72 players tied for 15th and has a three-round total of 4-over par (71, 72, 77). Junior to be, Chris Kennedy, shot a 3-over par 222 through three rounds and is tied for 20th.
