
Sotomarino Advances at USA F28 Futures Tournament

FULL RESULTS
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida men's tennis player, freshman Daniel Sotomarino advanced on Saturday in the 2009 USA F28 Futures Tournament in Niceville, Fla.
Sotomarino, who had a bye in the first round of the open tournament, defeated Brian Taylor Braziel, 6-4, 6-3, to move on to the next round of action.
Junior Graham Edgar also had a bye in the opening round but fell to Devin Britton 6-2, 6-2, in the second round. Britton was ranked 46th in juniors before moving up. In the 2008 end of year ATP rankings he finished 1908 and competed in the 2009 U.S. Open.
UNF freshman Moritz Buerchner advanced past the first round on Friday, but fell in the second round to Borja Zarco in a close three set match, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(4). Zarco ended the 2008 season with a 1,516 ATP ranking.
Junior Gleb Maslau lost to Christoph Thiemann in the second round, 6-4, 6-4. Theimann was ranked 1,611 in the 2008 end of year ATP rankings.
