Rolilns 3, UNF 1
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Junior Lauren Maze netted a penalty kick for the University of North Florida women's soccer team just over 13 minutes into Saturday's match against Rollins College, but the lone Osprey goal proved too little as the Tars toppled UNF, 3-1, in exhibition play at the UNF practice field.
Rollins (1-0 in exhibition play) responded with its first goal with less than 12 minutes remaining in the first half, and then wasted no time taking the lead, scoring another goal less than six minutes later.
Rollins' Lindsay Giblin evened the score at one off a pass from Charlotte Murrell before Chelsea Brady put the Tars ahead, courtesy of Ashley Waplinger's pass. Rollins added an insurance goal early in the second half when Salinger and Brady hooked up again for Brady's second goal of the game and Waplinger's second assist.
UNF (0-1 in exhibition play) took six corner kicks while Rollins managed only two, both in the second half. Rachael Howard played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Ospreys and finished the day with seven saves.
