JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida athletics department has initiated a new program this year called the Flock Rewards Program. The program's main objective is to give die hard Osprey fans incentive for being loyal.
Elliot Darkatsh, UNF director of marketing and promotions, has been one of the main contributors to the installation of the program.
"We're running a test pilot program with some new technology to coincide with the Osprey 1 Cards, and so far it has worked pretty well," Darkatsh said. "This type of program has become a popular trend in collegiate athletics, and with the move to Division I, the timing is good. Hopefully, we'll see improved results in our game attendance as a direct result."
The system will involve students swiping their active Osprey 1 cards to designated athletic events, where points will then be added to their account. As the points accumulate throughout the season, students will have the opportunity to receive prizes, with the grand prize being a Dell laptop computer.
