JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women’s swimming and diving team battled until the end in its last home meet of the season but came up just short against Florida Gulf Coast in a 134-107 loss on Friday at UNF Aquatic Center.

Despite the loss, UNF (5-4, 3-1 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association) had 13 season-best times, including a lifetime best by sophomore Krissy Harms, who clocked in at 4:42.20 in the 400-IM to finish in second.

The Lady Ospreys were led by junior Caroline Poling's two first-place finishes. Poling had a season-best time of 58.23 in the 100-butterfly to pick up the top place, while freshman teammate Patricia Lanoue finished in second with her own season-best of 59.20. Poling’s other first place showing was in the 200-medley relay, where she teamed with senior Krysten Nemecek, Lanoue and freshman Megan Boudreau to swim the event in 1:51.42.

Freshman LynAnn Nelson clocked in at a season-best time of 53.68 in the 100-free to capture first place. Freshmen teammates Becky Ryerson (56.73) and Ashley Fernaays (57.80) also bested their previous fastest time in the event.

The diving tandem of Emily Eisenhower and Debbie Rapoza continued their reign of dominance in the CCSA, splitting first place in both 1 and 3-meter diving. Rapoza claimed the top spot in the 1-meter competition with a score of 249.74, while Eisenhower put up a mark of 262.42 in 3-meter to finish in first.
