Ospreys set several new season-bests

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The University of North Florida women's swimming and diving team was able set new season-bests over the weekend at the Davidson Invitational and finished in fourth place out of eight teams.
Junior divers Emily Eisenhower and Debbie Rapoza led the way for the Ospreys, finishing No. 1 and 2 in 3-meter diving to add 37 points to the team score. With her score of 246.25, it was Eisenhower's third straight win this season in the event. Rapoza finished with a mark of 241.35.
Rapoza picked up her first top-place this season with a score of 227.70 in 1-meter diving. Eisenhower came in at fifth place with a 213.70 score.
Freshman LynAnn Nelson picked up a second-place finish in the 200-free with a season-best time of 1:55.21. Nelson also racked up fourth place finishes in the 400-IM (4:36.39), 500-free (5:07.90) and 100-free (54.14).
Senior Krysten Nemecek improved her top season time in the 100-breast, swimming the event in 1:09.39. She finished in fourth in the 200-breast with a time of 2:27.57, which was her second-best time in that event this season.
Sophomore Emily Shaw led UNF in the 200-back, clocking in at a season-best 2:11.20. She finished second in her heat in the 100-back with a time of 1:02.39.
The Ospreys stacked up well in relays, led by a third-place finish in the 400-medley relay. Shaw, Nemecek, Poling and Nelson clocked in at 4:05.28. In the 200-free relay, Nelson, Maria Bianchi, Megan Boudreau and Shaw recorded a season-best time of 1:40.92. In the 400-free relay, Shaw, Bianchi, Boudreau and Nelson put up a fourth-place showing after swimming the event in 3:39.13.
UNF will return to action at 4 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the UNF Aquatic Center against New Orleans. Before the meet, the Ospreys will honor all-time program greats as part of the UNF Athletics 25th-Anniversary Celebration.
